Let the countdown begin..

Week two of senior year is finally complete and only half my body feels like it has been hit by a semi-truck! Anyone else have that similar feeling? The overwhelming amount of papers, online quizzes, and readings that have to be done and the high expectations each and every teacher has from all of us seems nearly impossible to accomplish. Sometimes I think to myself “Will I make it to graduation?” The answer is yes. Yes we will ALL make it to graduation. And thanks to my wonderful social work friend, I now have these cute quotes to carry around with me. It’s like she read my mind and knew exactly what I needed to read at the end of this hectic week. Besides graduating, I get to do something that I love and discover different aspects of my own life. And hopefully I will be able to thank my future self for it one day.

“Do something today that your future self will thank you for.”

This can be as little as reading your textbook so the next day in class you actually understand what you are learning. It can even be as simple as going for a run or in general SELF-CARE!

I absolutely LOVE that in the social work program we are encouraged to practice self-care so when we are in the actual field, we have less of a chance of experiencing burn out. So take the time to think about what you enjoy doing most and try to incorporate it in your busy schedule so you don’t lose your wonderful self.

Here are some things I enjoy doing:
– Running
– Writing
– Singing
– Writing songs
– Lighting candles
– Crafts!!
– Decorating for the seasons (Yes I decorated my room for fall already even though it is only September 9th. I also sing Christmas songs around the 4th of July).

I also love spending time with friends, family, and Netflix!Β What are some things you enjoy doing?

So even though our lives are chaotic and it feels as if we do not have any time to do anything for ourselves, I encourage you try!! Even if it is a quick 30 minute walk around the park to clear your thoughts!

Enjoy your weekend and remember to SELF-CARE!
